The Town Office has been established to assist the people
of Godmanchester. The Town Clerk and Assistant welcome visitors
and suggestions about other services that might be provided.
The purpose of the Town Office is to provide the people
of Godmanchester with easy access to the Town Council. The Office also
accepts bookings for the two halls in the Queen Elizabeth School and
the facilities at Judith's Field for groups or private functions. Charges start from only £4.50 per
hour (Judith's Field), up to £14 per hour (QE School). Clubs regularly using the halls include: Yoga, Pilates etc - just contact the Office for current details.
Private parties, receptions, antiques fairs and many other events also
take place.
The Office keeps details
of the Twinning arrangements with Germany, Hungary and France, and is
building up information on local events, much of which is displayed
on the large notice board outside. The Electoral Roll is also available.
Godmanchester Town Council Grants
Local groups and charities may wish
to apply to the Town Council for a grant.
The Town Council is able to make grants
to local groups. Awards are made in June and December, with typical
values of £100-700 from a total fund not exceeding £3000. Local groups
including playgroups, football teams, youth bands etc have benefited
in the past. Applications must be made in writing in advance and each is considered
on its own merits. Contact the Town Clerk for information.
